Naomi Ball

Naomi Ball is a director, producer and impact producer working in documentary and fiction. Influenced by her experience as a Queer woman and a passion for social and environmental justice, she seeks out stories that amplify diverse voices and change minds through entertaining narratives. Her work with Walking Fish includes directing the Screen Australia-funded documentary Who I Am, which premiered at Doc Edge in 2022, earned her an Australian Directors Guild award nomination, and was released on 10Play and Paramount+. She also directed Searching for the Tassie Tiger (2021), which garnered 3.7 million views on VICE YouTube and was broadcast on SBS VICELAND in Australia. Currently, she is working as Impact Producer on our documentary Guardians of the River, and Producer on Mockbuster, both due to be released in 2025. Beyond her work at Walking Fish, she led the impact campaign for the feature documentary Rachel’s Farm (2023) and has collaborated on social impact campaigns with some of Australia and Aotearoa’s (New Zealand) most respected charities as both a filmmaker and communications consultant. She has also directed video content for major brands, including Google and Xero.

Walking Fish Productions is a Melbourne-based premium documentary company, producing stories of heart, humour, social impact and urgent issues for global audiences.
