ROAD TO REFUGE: Shifting the Story

Road to Refuge is on a mission to change the national conversation on seeking refuge and asylum by providing platforms to amplify the voices and perspectives of those with lived experience of seeking refuge or asylum.

In support of Road to Refuge’s ‘Shifting the Story’ initiative, Walking Fish was commissioned to create two short documentaries capturing refugee and migrant experiences of COVID-19. A huge thanks to Afghan refugee Altaf and North Indian household Noor, Roop and Judge for sharing their stories.

We would like to acknowledge and pay our respects to the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people of the Kulin nation and the Peek Whurrong people of the Marr Nation. Sovereignty was never ceded.

We would also like to extend our respects to First Nations people across the globe, the first storytellers, whose voices echo through generations.
